Welcome to Session 1 of Using your Windows tablet device to make a real difference in your teaching. In this session, you will learn more about Windows devices, and get to know your new device and how to work with it.

We will cover three key areas in this session.

1. Out of the box.
2. Organising your tablet.
3. Tablet mastery.

By the end of the session, you will:

• have knowledge of the different Operating Systems (Android, Windows, iPadOS, Huawei [HarmonyOS]);
• have knowledge of the various tablet types and their specifications
• know how to unbox and set up a new Windows tablet device
• understand how to create a Microsoft Account for use on a Windows tablet device
• be able to complete basic actions related to the Windows tablet device
• understand how to navigate the tablet and how to use apps
• be able to change the orientation (landscape/portrait) of your Windows tablet device
• be able to personalise the look of your Windows tablet device
• be able to organise your Windows tablet device for effective use
• understand how to maintain the security of a Windows tablet device
• appreciate how long a battery on the Windows tablet device lasts, and how to manage it effectively
• understand the different types of connectivity
• appreciate data usage and how to manage it effectively
