The aim of this session is to help you make sense of the technical terms associated with digital devices, such as tablets and laptops, and to assist you with making good decisions when you are buying a new digital device.
By the end of the session, you will:
- appreciate the various specifications of digital devices, such as tablets and laptops (Central Processing Units, storage, RAM, internet connectivity, screen resolution, strength of screen, and ports)
- understand the implications of digital device specifications for use in a classroom
- understand the different digital device operating systems
- know more about different types of software and apps for teaching and learning
- make an informed decision about choosing a digital device that will suit the context and needs of the learners in your classroom, as well as your own teaching context and needs
