Welcome to Session 4 of Using your laptop to make a real difference in your teaching.  The focus of this session is Using a display device with your laptop.

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

  • identify different display devices that can be used with a laptop
  • discuss the benefits of different display devices
  • set up a data projector
  • troubleshoot setting up a data projector
  • discuss how to use a data projector effectively in a classroom
  • identify different types of interactive white board
  • set up an interactive white board
  • troubleshoot setting up an interactive white board
  • discuss how to use an interactive white board effectively in a classroom
  • identify a document camera
  • set up a document camera
  • troubleshoot setting up a document camera
  • discuss how to use a document camera effectively in a classroom

During this course – Using your laptop to make a real difference in your teaching – you will learn all about how to use your laptop. The course includes the following sessions.

  1. Your first laptop
  2. Managing files
  3. Connecting to the world
  4. Using a display device with your laptop
  5. Making it work with JUST ONE LAPTOP

For this session, there will not be a task after each lesson, because the nature of the session is to demonstrate the use of display devices. Your task is, however, to practise the use of devices based on what you have learned here.
