Miyelani A. Hlungwani was born in 1989. He grew up in the dusty streets of Mukhomi Village, outside Malamulele in Limpopo. In 2007, he passed his matric with merit. In 2008, he went to the University of Venda, where he enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Language Studies). In 2010, he was awarded a Certificate of Participation in Xitsonga Linguistic Fieldwork from Central Connecticut State University (USA).

“U lo tikhanya!” is his first novel.
